The Department of Posts, Karnataka Circle, has officially declared the results of the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) conducted for promoting Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) to the cadre of Postman and Mail Guard for the vacancy year 2024. The examination was held on August 25, 2024, followed by a Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) on September 15, 2024.
Examination and Selection Process
The examination adhered to criteria and standards set forth in various guidelines, including:
- Provisional and Final Answer Keys: Initial keys were published on the day of the exam, with final keys confirmed on September 2, 2024.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: As specified by the Directorate's guidelines, qualifying scores were adjusted based on category. For example, Unreserved (UR) candidates needed a minimum of 59.20 in Paper I & II combined and 20 in Paper III, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates needed 48.84 and 16.5, respectively.
- Merit List Compilation: A single merit list was prepared at the Circle Level, based on the combined scores of Paper I and Paper II. Papers III and IV were considered qualifying in nature.

Division-wise Distribution and Allocation
The successful candidates were allocated divisions and units based on their merit rankings and preferences. Should a candidate in a higher preference vacancy decline the offer, subsequent eligible candidates on the list will be considered.
Provisional Selection and Verification
Selected candidates are considered provisional pending verification by respective divisions and regions to ensure eligibility. Candidates under any disciplinary review or with pending cases will not be promoted until cleared. Division and Unit heads are instructed to ensure that all conditions are met prior to issuing appointment orders.
Important Notifications for Selected Candidates
- Joining Timeframe: Candidates are expected to join their assigned divisions by November 1, 2024. Those on leave must communicate their acceptance and join after the end of their leave period.
- Request for Review or Revaluation: Requests for revaluation are not permitted, but candidates may request copies of their answer sheets under the RTI Act.
- Promotion Declination: Candidates who previously declined promotion but qualified again will be eligible for promotion only after one year from their last declination date.
